Our Purpose

BASIC Training, short for “Brothers and Sisters in Christ”, is modeled after I Corinthians 9:24-27. As we run the race of faith in this life, we desire the crown of glory promised to those who complete their training. This means that every aspect of our lives should be aimed at pleasing God, and we want to promote a comfortable learning environment that will enable us to grow as Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

BASIC Training is a co-op specifically designed to offer tutorial courses taught from a Biblical Worldview which will enhance the home schooled student’s experience. The group classes are geared for middle and high school-aged students so they can experience group learning, enhance what they are learning at home, learn accountability and responsibility, and be challenged academically. Courses will be offered for younger children of parents who have responsibilities within the co-op.

We take these courses seriously and they will be provided in a structured, but fun atmosphere. We do not take the place of the parent as the primary teacher and therefore require parents to be actively involved.  The parent is still the primary instructor and responsible for initial teaching, record keeping, grades, and evaluating the mastery of the subject.

It is our desire to promote a community that brings home schooling families together. To encourage this type of atmosphere, we will require children to be enrolled in a full course of study each co-op day.   Our class day begins with family chapel time.
